Superheroes

My mother and I were coming back from Outback Steakhouse (mmm, arterial sclerosis). We noticed a license plate on a shiny blue car that said:
"CLARKNT"
or in other words, Clark Kent, the alias of Superman. A few blocks later, we saw an orange car that had a vanity plate, too. "NCE TRY". I laughed to my mother that it must be the Joker's car (who, you know, is a Batman villain- I'm not terribly versed in Superhero comics).

All of this discussion led me to wonder how many adult people exist in this world who have modeled their lives after superheroes, and are now living on a day to day basis in that existence. They wait to someday wear a cape, avenge the thwarted justice that has occurred in their backyard. It was a profound thought.

I enjoy unearthing people's abnormal traits. Normalcy is what everyone does, and I suppose that some would say that normalizing behaviors are what unite us as a human race. But difference...or deviation from the path of the other cliff-bound lemmings is where I believe the spark of God is found. Many of us wait our whole lives for our one chance to be abnormal. It takes courage and a unique sort of morality to go against the grain.
